The following list contains color morphs of the Indian Blue peafowl. Dark buttons are autosomal morphs, light buttons contain a sex-linked color in some way.
Green peafowl (Pavo muticus) are a separate species from the Indian Blue (Pavo cristatus).
Green peafowl have no known mutations, only subspecies. The main three are Pavo muticus muticus, Pavo muticus spicifer, and Pavo muticus imperator. |
Spalding peafowl are hybrids between the blue and green species of peafowl. Most "blues" are actually low percent Spaldings, so "Spalding" photos and info here mostly refers to mid- to high-percent Spaldings (eg: birds with a mid-to-high percentage of Green genetics or phenotype).
